This animation was created over the Christmas holiday period of 2007/08. I was using it as a test to see how I could link audio to layers in After Effects - this was all keyframed manually for accuracy.

In one of the sections for the tracks, each colour panel of the helmet represents one of eight notes. A photo of the notes I made detailing the colours can be seen below.

One of my future projects is to take this a step further and create a 3D model of the helmet and render out multiple channels to create a much richer and more interesting look to it (and animate it to the entire song as well).
